GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

The maintenance and enhancement of public spaces, such as parks, gardens and woodland, is highly valued by local communities, helping foster civic pride and responsibility.

Verdant runs a number of local authority grounds maintenance contracts, often closely integrated with its core municipal waste, recycling and cleansing services. Skilled crews, supported by modern equipment, handle all aspects of grounds maintenance such as pruning and mowing, weeding spraying, leaf and blossom clearance, tree surgery and pest control, as well as waste collection and cleansing. The latter services are particularly important for major events held in public spaces.

This approach has helped local authority partner Wycombe to win three coveted Green Flag awards for excellence in park management at Higginson Park, Marlow.

“We’re very happy from an environmental prospective.  In terms of recycling verdant has provided plans for achieving a 33% recycling rate in the short term and a 50% rate in the longer term.”
