Waste club a big hit

More than 3,000 households have now signed up to a waste club run by East Northamptonshire Council. The Green Waste Club, run by the council and the Verdant Group, has now become one of the most successful schemes in the region, taking more than 1,000 tonnes of waste in the last year.

Members pay an annual fee to be part of the club and in return receive a fortnightly collection of green waste, such as hedge trimmings, grass cuttings and prunings, along with a brown bin to store them all in until collection day.

A recent survey of members found 96 per cent were very satisfied with the service provided by the club.

Membership for the year costs £40.25 and includes free delivery of the bin.
