Each material
goes through a different process
to be made into new and useful items.
Paper, cardboard,
clean tins and cans, plastic bottles, glass and textiles can be
put into a recycling box, sometimes separated into two boxes for
different types of recycling.
On the day
of collection the recycling boxes are placed at the edge of the
property ready for collection.
After hooking
the boxes onto the side of the kerbsider each item is put into a
separate compartment, and when tipped in, they are kept in larger
compartments inside.
Having been
tipped into the bays, the recyclables (tins/cans, plastic bottles
and textiles) are then crushed into bales ready for collection.
The new items
are sold and enter back into the recycling process.
